MOBILE ROADIE CREATES CUSTOMIZED IPHONE APPS TO PROMOTE ARTISTS

Imagine having instant and exclusive access to your favorite band's hot new tracks, upcoming shows and being able to have a one-to-one conversation with the band members. Mobile Roadie has teamed with THE CRYSTAL METHOD to create an iPhone application which will provide a powerful connection between the duo and their fans as they set to release their new studio album, Divided By Night tomorrow, Tuesday, May 12.

Via the free application which will be also be available tomorrow, fans can purchase the album’s momentous first single, “Drown in the Now” featuring Matisyahu. The app will also feature special album graphics and first dibs to access purchase on upcoming show tickets as well as talk with other fans and The Crystal Method directly via their Fan Wall and much more.

Divided By Night marks The Crystal Method’s (Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland) first studio album in five years and features a vast array of guests including vocalists Matisyahu, Emily Haines (Metric), Justin Warfield of She Wants Revenge and his wife Stefanie King Warfield, Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), rappers LMFAO plus players like bassist Peter Hook (New Order) and drummer extraordinaire Samantha Maloney (Peaches, Hole). Physical & digital distribution, as well as digital marketing of the album will be handled by INgrooves.

“The iPhone app is a great way for Crystal Method fans to connect directly with the band and gain fast, easy access to their exclusive content. This is an example of how to reduce the friction between fan and artist and facilitate a more intimate relationship,” says Robb McDaniels of INgrooves.

Adds Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland of The Crystal Method, "We were both early adopters of the iPhone. We use them constantly, especially on the road and really love our new TCM app!"
