Dubfire launches new label, SCI+TEC

Dubfire, one half of Grammy winning duo Deep Dish, is launching a new digital download label, Science + Technology Digital Audio [SCI + TEC] to better serve the growing surge of popularity in minimal and tech-house and perhaps further signalling the permanent death of vinyl. Hot off the successes of two of this summer's biggest tracks "Roadkill" (Toolroom) and "RibCage" (Desolat). (Click here to get some actual critical reaction to "RibCage")
The NEW label promises a monthly release schedule, we'll keep our fingers crossed that they are better than recent releases on Yoshitoshi or by Deep Dish. Odds are they will be as Dubfire is spending less time hangin out with BT and more time trying to be down with techno cats like Richie Hawtin and Marc Houle. The leadoff single for SCI + TEC drops 11/23 and is culled from Dubfire's recent Global Underground mix Taipei, "I Feel Speed", a hand stitched re-work of the sleazy proto-grunge classic by Love & Rockets featuring vocals by Dubfire himself. Remix duties will be handled by Berlin's Booka Shade. Other remixes by Audion (Matthew Dear) and UNKLE will soon follow. After that Dubfire drops his tribute to Naplese techno "Angels Over Naples" with help from his pal Simi and remixes from Davide Squillace, Rino Cerrone, Gaetano Parisio, Danilo Vigorito and more.
