NEW YORK – Pioneer Pro DJ and DJ Times magazine are pleased to announce the launch of the fourth annual America’s Best DJ (ABDJ) competition and summer tour.

America’s Best DJ gives U.S.-based DJs a chance to shine just as brightly as their European contemporaries. The U.S. is the birthplace of dance music, the origin of club culture, and the biggest entertainment market in the world. Its DJs deserve a contest of their own.

As selected by the staff of DJ Times, this year’s TOP 100 U.S. DJs – and contenders for the title of America’s Best DJ – represent every possible style from Bhangra to Booty-tech. Online Voting Begins May 1, so dance music fans are encouraged to visit www.americasbestdj.net and vote for their favorite DJs!

Supporting the online vote, a 20-city tour—dubbed America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer Pro DJ—kicks off Saturday, May 2, at Pacha NYC with New York’s own DJ Boris. Co-sponsor DJ Times will be at Pacha, taking in-person votes for the ultra-popular Boris and showing off Pioneer’s unique DVJ-1000 “DVD turntable.”

The ABDJ Summer Tour, which runs May through August, expects to attract nearly 150,000 music fans nationwide—and all voters will be eligible to win prize packages that include a trip for two to ABDJ’s closing party/award ceremony September 12 in Las Vegas. ABDJ votes will be tallied up through August 9 and the winning DJ will, of course, be flown to Las Vegas for the closing party/award ceremony—exciting details to be announced soon!
