PAUL VAN DYK'S 'VOLUME' MAKES IMPRESSIVE DEBUT W/ #1 SPOTS ON BILLBOARD'S HEATSEEKERS + TOP NEW ARTIST ALBUM CHARTS

Marking almost 15 years to the day of his first album release 45 RPM, revered electronic musician and performer PAUL VAN DYK made a very impressive debut in the U.S. this past week as he released his best-of anthology VOLUME (Ultra Records/Vandit). The double-disc set registered on several Billboard charts including #1 spots on Heatseekers and Top New Artist Albums, #4 on Current Electronic Albums, #20 on Record Label Independent Current Albums and #114 on Top Current Albums chart.

Elliott Townsend noted in his and a 4 and ½ out of 5 star review at URB.COM (June 17), “…VOLUME will treat your aural buds to a tasty electronic treat. From pure synth-powered trance, to more exotic breaks and downtempo grooves, VOLUME draws strength from its varied sounds, tempos and moods…His style is all his own, his sound like no other…it reinforces his role within the upper echelon of international DJs.”

With the album release, van Dyk has been simultaneously very busy promoting the PvD custom iPhone/iPod DJ app and an original score for EA Sports Grand Slam® Tennis video game while embarking on an aggressive 17 cities in 17 days tour throughout the States. This weekend he’ll wrap his VOLUME tour at the massive Electric Daisy Carnival in downtown Los Angeles where over 100,000 people are expected. Next, he’ll return to Europe for his highly anticipated Cream residency at Amnesia in Ibiza and other high-profile dates. He’ll travel back across the Atlantic later in the summer for a major show at Rumsey Playfield in New York City ’s Central Park August 28.
